Pastured Berkshire Pork

We raise our pigs outdoors and rotate them around the hillsides and leaf piles through the season. We are the only producer in the region that uses certified organic, non-GMO feed for our pasture-raised pigs. We never administer antibiotics or hormones to our pigs- we just keep them healthy naturally. Currently, we raise primarily heritage Berkshire pigs.

The pork from heritage Berkshire pigs (also referred to in Japanese as Kurobata), taste unlike other pork breeds. It has a higher level of intramuscular marbling and a darker appearance. This makes for meat that is juicy, flavorful and tender. And since we raise them outdoors on un-sprayed pasture here at Glade Road Growing and supplement with organic, non-GMO feed, you can be confident they are the highest quality local pork around!

In addition to delicious, healthy pork, we also sell rendered lard from our pigs and our own handmade soaps using the lard, essential oils and organic rosemary extract. Our soaps have a light lather and are especially moisturizing and mild.

Our pork availability varies throughout the season. Right now all our meats and produce are available through preorder in our online farm market.

Pork raised the way it should be!
