12/29/2023 Glade Road Growing Online Market FAQ’s

Q: Where is your online farm market located?
A: Online Farm Stand – Glade Road Growing
Q: Where will I pick up my purchase?
A: Farm pick up is at 2351 Glade Road. Your bin will be in the Preorder Pick up Section, which is around the left side of the cooler display. Names will be on the glass doors in front of your bin. You’ll open the glass door, reach in and grab your bin and transfer the contents to your own bag. Don’t forget to pick up your meat and tomatoes! Your meats will be in a brown paper bag with your name on it in the adjacent upright pick up freezer. Tomatoes will be outside the cooler on the adjacent table.
Q: When can I pick up my preorder bag?
A: For on-farm pick up, orders placed by 12 noon will be available the next day by 8 am. We pack orders every afternoon, all week. Most orders are filled within 24 hours.
Example a) Charlie places an order at 11 am Sunday. His bag will be ready by 8 am Monday.
Example b) Jody places an order at 3 pm Tuesday. His bag will be ready 8 am Thursday.
Once your bin is available, you can pick it up any time of day. Pick up is self-serve (ie there is no attendant or person you check-in with once you arrive). We’ll hold your items for one week and after that it will be discarded. You should get an automated email once your order is packed and that means it is ready for pick up (though often these automated emails end up in spam/trash folders).
Q: I am a SNAP beneficiary with an EBT card. How do I order?
A:  Pick out your SNAP-eligible items in our online farm market and add to your cart. At the checkout page enter the coupon code snap. The snap coupon code should bring your online order total to $0. We will run the actual order total in person with your EBT card when you come to pick up your order. Since EBT transactions must be done in person, in the “Order Notes” section on the checkout page please provide some times when you would like to pick up your order and run your card. Then proceed with checkout. Once we receive and pack your order we will contact you to coordinate pick up and to simultaneously run the transaction with your EBT card.
When we run your EBT  card we will deduct 50% off your vegetable subtotal thanks to Virginia’s Fresh Match program.
Q: I am having trouble navigating the website. Any tips?
A: The online store is organized into categories (beef, chicken, eggs, honey, pork, vegetables, and soap). Click on the categories to see the individual products. Click on the individual products to see a description and cooking tips. If you are on the Checkout page, you can use the back button to get back to the store. You may need to press it twice. Once in the store, you can use the thread or menu tabs at the top to get back to the main store page or between the categories. You can also use the search bar in the upper right to get right to specific products.
Q: My favorite vegetable is showing as out of stock. What do I do?
A: We’ll update the harvest quantities in the inventory at few times a week for crops that we are regularly harvesting now. If your favorite is sold out, just check back again in a couple days. And try something new for now!
Q: Why are all the meat prices listed as $0?
A: Since weights vary for our packaged meats, we’ll know the total for these items after they are packed. When shopping our online store, you can click on the individual meat cuts to see the $/lb, typical weights, typical costs per pack and description. Quantities selected are per pack. If would like to request a package size for your individual meat cuts, you can enter them in the “Order notes” box on the Checkout page and we will try to accommodate.
Q: How can I make regular ordering easier?
A: On the checkout page, check the “Create account” check box under your billing details to save your info with a login that you’ll specify.
Q: I have a Glade Road Growing Farm Debit card. How can I use that credit for the online store?
A: Our farm debit card members should use the coupon code provided each time you checkout. Once you enter your coupon code, your order total online will appear as $0. In the “Billing details” section on the checkout page please use the name of the person that signed up for the farm debit card and proceed with the online checkout. When we process your order, we will use this name to look up your farm card and deduct the amount for your order, including any amount for meat orders, 1% Virginia food sales tax and any applicable delivery charges. If your online order exceeds your current farm card balance then I will contact you for the additional payment or to see if you want to add more credit to your farm card. Farm debit card members will get an additional order receipt from Square showing their remaining balance.
Q: How can I add more credit to my farm debit card?
A: Call or email me and we’ll arrange it. It helps if you have your farm debit card number and credit card that you are using to recharge handy. I admit that I am hard to reach. If you get our answering machine leave your name and number and I’ll get back to you. You can also look up your current balance and farm card activity at:
