Description

Held Tuesday, 11/5, from 9 am – 3 pm here at 2351 Glade Road.

*New! Teens option available.

Be a farmer for a day! Instead of the classroom, the barnyard will be the school and the farmers will be your teachers so that budding farmers can get some hands on experience while having wagon loads of fun. Farmessori days are held during teacher workdays so instead of being in school you can learn and play here. Activities include real-working farm dailies like egg collection, feeding the animals, picking vegetables, making our own lunch, and free time outdoors, all here on our working farm.

We have two groups this year:

So that we have the most meaningful experience possible, assure that your child is at least the minimum age required to participate.

Kids Farmessori (ages 9-12) is a fun way to develop social skills, teamwork, expand your child’s palate, and their love of the outdoors. Kids Farmessori is led by Scarlett Williams.

Teens Farmessori (ages 13-17) is a step up from the kids version, we’ll get into more advanced farming activities with plenty of time to cook and eat what we harvest, too. We may even go over some farm equipment basics. Teens Farmessori is led by Garrett Waters.

The day is all weather so dress for the outdoors. Homemade farm lunch included.

10 minimum participants required to hold Farmessori.

Even though we make our lunch here we still recommend your child bring a lunch of their own (in case they won’t eat ours’s), 2 snacks, a water bottle, and weather appropriate clothes (sun protection /rain protection/jacket/layers).

Please have your child wear long pants and closed-toed shoes that are appropriate in a barnyard with mud and animal poop!

You will be emailed additional details,  liability waiver and media release prior to Farmessori. If you have any additional questions please contact farm@gladeroadgrowing.com.

**Please enter your child’s name and age in the “order notes” section on the checkout page along with any food allergies or medical conditions we should know about.
