Description
Our beautiful, large Escarole heads are part of the chicory family, and therefore, are similar in taste to cousins radicchio and endive though not quite as bitter. Escarole’s texture is a mix between lettuce and kale. It is amazing in soup (think chicken or Italian wedding soup) and also holds its own as a braised green. Escarole is extremely high in vitamins K and A, as well as, Potassium.
*Note- Our greens are typically unwashed in the winter.
