Description
On-farm pick up is at 2351 Glade Road, Blacksburg Va 24060.
We have an attendant available to assist on Tuesdays & Fridays (9 am -5:30 pm), and Saturdays (10 am – 3 pm) when our full-service farm stand will be open.
All our produce is certified naturally grown by us.
This season we are planning on growing: tomatoes, lettuce, onions, peppers, cilantro, summer squash, garlic, carrots, cucumbers, basil, kale, spinach, eggplant, winter squash, beets, broccoli, dill, green onions, cabbage, Asian greens, collards, salad turnips, kohlrabi, parsley, potatoes, salad radishes, sweet potatoes, chard, arugula, beans, cauliflower, celery, fennel, leeks, celeriac, watermelon radish, perennial herbs, parsnips, peas, hot peppers, rutabagas, garlic scapes and roasting turnips.
Honey and Eggs are not included in the main season share. If you would like weekly eggs, please join our Egg Share.
On any given week you can choose from either the market-style option OR the pre-packed bin option (both explained below).
For market style, we display our full produce selection. Each item has a number, or points, written on the label. You make your selections and add up the point value, getting to 30 points/week for small shares (40 for large shares). It’s just fine to go over 30 points some weeks and go under other weeks, or pay any overflow when you remember; just balance that out yourself over the course of the share. For instance, if you will be away one week, you can use 10 additional points the previous week and 20 the following to make up the 30 that you missed. Your personal balance week to week is not something we care to keep track of but rather trust you to manage over the season.
For the prepacked bins, we pack a you a delicious selection of 5-8 vegetables that you can grab and go. The prepacked bins are good for people who don’t like to make decisions and want to get in and out quickly. If you choose the pre-packed bin option, please take all the contents of the bin and do not sub out from it.
Please remember to bring your own bags each week to pack your share into.
Small shares typically contain about 5-7 different vegetables. Small shares are typically suitable for 1-2 adults and usually fill a plastic grocery bag, average value at $30+ per week.
Large shares typically contain about 8-11 different vegetables. Large shares are typically suitable for families that eat lots of vegetables, average value at $40+ per week.
