This was one of our most popular events last year.

You may think this is just about holding a duckling. But it’s so much more. This is an up close look at the very beginning of a start. You’ll feel the warmth of this new animal in your hand, watch its curiosity as it looks back at you, and feel a sense of wonder yourself at how something begins.  You get a front row seat of Blacksburg agriculture. These are young, real animals on our  family’s working farm.

This event is for the young and young at heart. We have had participants come with their entire family and couples come with no children at all.

We’ll meet at our new farm pavilion with a small army of baby ducklings . We’ll give a guided tutorial on how to safely hold them and let you.

Long pants recommended if you want to hold the babies. Handwashing area provided and plenty of memorable photo opportunities.

Child and parent ticket required. Free for kids 4 and under.
